PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE OF BAIRNSDALE ROADS
Thursday 18 May 2017
The Andrews Labor Government is starting the preliminary work to upgrade the Princes Highway East to reduce congestion, boost access and safety for Bairnsdale.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing has announced $450,000 will be used for community consultation and town and road planning studies needed to develop a business case to improve the road network in Bairnsdale.
Bairnsdale has seen significant growth across its community over the past 10, particularly on Princes Highway East.
This investment will allow VicRoads to look at ways to ensure the local road network meets the local community’s changing needs.
VicRoads will work in collaboration with the East Gippsland Shire Council, the local community and businesses to identify key issues and possible solutions.
A business case for network improvements will be developed for funding consideration.
