Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Harriet Shing today announced Rosalind Crisp will receive $15,180 for a Victorian Arts Grant.

The latest round of the Andrews Labor Government’s VicArts grants will support the development of more than 30 new theatre, dance, music, visual arts and multimedia works, as well as international residencies and presentation opportunities for Victorian artists.

Rosalind Crisp will use the funding to pursue a creative research project, DIRt #3, developing methods of dance practice that respond to local environment degradation and fosters sustainable arts practice, by regional artists living in far East Gippsland.

More than 1200 career opportunities will be created for artists and creative industries workers across the state, with the Andrews Labor Government’s latest round of arts grants investing more than $1 million into the independent arts sector.

Sixty-two projects will receive funding, which will create opportunities for almost 900 of Victoria’s independent artists, and 350 professionals in technical, administrative and other support roles in creative fields.

For every one dollar invested by the government in this program, a further $2.50 is generated by the sector.
