SUPPORTING INVERLOCH SCOUTS TO BE THEIR BEST
Wednesday, 19 September 2018
More young Victorians in Bass Coast will get the chance to join the Scouts and realise their full potential as future leaders thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
The Labor Government is supporting scouts in Bass Coast with a $103,000 upgrade to Inverloch Scout Hall, which will go towards extending their building to cope with demand – they currently have 40 members but a large waiting list due to the lack of facilities.
The Government is investing in new community halls and refurbished existing facilities across the state to give Scouts more places to gather and hold troop meetings.
The halls and centres will also serve the broader local community by being made available for use for other events and activities.
The Scouts movement has been active in Victoria for more than a century, providing thousands of youth members and adult volunteers with opportunities to gain leadership and life skills.
More than 17,000 young people and 5,000 adults are currently involved in scouting groups across Victoria.

“The scouting community helps young people from every walk of life to develop vital problem-solving, innovation and leadership skills, and the self-esteem they need to reach their full potential. We’re so proud to support them and we can’t wait to see this well-deserved upgrade come to fruition.”
