Families with young children in Corinella can now access the quality local kindergarten programs they need, with the opening of the new Bass Valley Children’s Centre.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today visited the new $2.3 million kindergarten on Corinella Road, Corinella, officially opening the new service that will improve local early childhood services and facilities.

The new integrated children’s centre includes a kinder with 22 four-year-old places, long day and before/after school care, as well as Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services and meeting spaces.

Many of these services are being provided for the first time in the community.

The centre is built next to the Bass Valley Primary School, which will make the transition to school even easier for little locals.

The Andrews Labor Government provided $900,000 to help deliver the new kinder, with the council and provider contributing a further $1.4 million.

The Labor Government is delivering a record $123.6 million to build, expand and improve kinders across Victoria to ensure local families can continue to access great local kindergartens.

Local families are also benefiting from the Government’s $202.1 million Education State Early Childhood Reform Plan.

This ground-breaking reform plan recognises the importance of providing families with strong support in early childhood, so kids are ready for kinder and ready for school.

It will mean local parents can access improved parenting support and MCH services, as well as higher quality and more inclusive kindergartens.
