BUILDING THE EDUCATION STATE AND CREATING JOBS IN GIPPSLAND
Gippsland families will be more involved in the building and upgrading of local schools and early childhood centres than ever before, with the launch of the Victorian School Building Authority.
The Andrews Labor Government today launched the Authority to deliver school building projects faster and with more community involvement.
Harriet Shing, Member for Eastern Victoria Region said the school building boom will create 4,000 construction jobs and ensure all Victorian families have access to a great school, including Gippsland.
The new Authority website provides details for hundreds of school building projects across Victoria, including new schools and upgrades to existing schools, with everything from architectural designs to project schedules available publicly for the first time.
The Labor Government has invested a record $1.8 billion to build new schools and upgrade classrooms across the state over the past two Budgets.
