COWES JETTY OPEN TO VISITORS

Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing MP announced today that the new $598,000 Cowes Jetty at the Anderson Road boat ramp on Phillip Island will open this weekend.

The new 60 metre jetty will provide locals and visitors in Cowes with safer, more efficient and more convenient boating facilities at Anderson Road.

The Andrews Labor Government provided $378,000 towards the upgrade through the Boating Safety and Facilities Program with the remainder funded by Bass Coast Shire Council.

The program supports community groups, local and state government agencies and waterway managers to upgrade and build boating facilities, purchase new search and rescue vessels and improve navigation and safety signage.
