GIPPSLAND, IT’S TIME TO SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT IDEAS
Monday, 25 June 2018
People in Gippsland have more time to put forward their great local ideas for funding, with the deadline for the Andrews Labor Government’s Pick My Project initiative extended to 8 July.
The Victorian first, $30 million initiative gives every Victorian over the age of 16 the opportunity to come up with a project idea that will make their community a better place, as well as the money to deliver it.
Through the program, communities across Victoria will have access to the project funds, with a minimum of $1 million guaranteed per partnership area.
With just a few simple criteria, great community ideas could receive funding of $20,000 to $200,000 to get off the ground.
Applicants submit an idea that helps build a stronger community – with the backing of a local organisation, community group, school, local council, or other eligible group – and the project could come to life within a year.
The simple application process takes less than half-an-hour and can be completed online at pickmyproject.vic.gov.au.
When all applications are in and assessed, they will be published online in August and that’s when applicants can start encouraging friends and neighbours to vote for their project and other favourites.
