GRANTS TO IMPROVE TECHNOLOGY IN GIPPSLAND KINDERGARTENS

The Andrews Labor Government is supporting kindergartens across Gippsland with grants to give them access to the latest technology.
Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing today announced twelve kindergartens would receive a grant giving early childhood professionals the resources they need to support their important work.

These kindergartens are among more than 400 across the state to benefit from an information technology grant, as part of the Labor Government’s $33.6 million investment in the 2019/20 Budget for the Children’s Facilities Capital Program and Inclusive Kindergarten Facilities Program.
Grants of up to $1,500 have been made available to purchase desktops, laptops, tablets and televisions that are used as part of learning programs or for administration use.
In an Australian-first, the Labor Government is investing nearly $5 billion over the next ten years to deliver two years of funded kindergarten for all Victorian children through its Three-Year-Old Kindergarten reforms.
The Labor Government is also upgrading infrastructure through a $1.68 billion co-investment with the early childhood sector to build and expand kindergarten facilities across the state in preparation for the roll-out.
This is about ensuring families in Gippsland families have access to stronger support in early childhood, so kids are ready for kinder, ready for school and ready for life.
