OPPORTUNITY FOR SOUTH GIPPSLAND AND BASS COAST BUILDERS
Friday, 3 November, 2017
The Andrews Labor Government is investing in a number of vital infrastructure projects in regional Victoria and is encouraging local builders to register with the Construction Supplier Register.
The Construction Supplier Register is a prequalification scheme for building contractors and consultants interested in working with Victorian Government departments and agencies.
The scheme gives suppliers access to streamlined tender processes and supplier assessments to determine their eligibility for construction works and services.
With only a small number of South Gippsland and Bass Coast builders currently prequalified through the scheme, local suppliers are being reminded to register to take advantage of this opportunity.
A range of criteria is assessed in order to prequalify for work including an organisation’s OH&S capability, its industrial relations management, financial viability and experience.
Prequalification does not automatically guarantee suppliers will be chosen for projects – but businesses can be selected from the register to compete for contracts, with the final outcome determined through a rigorous value-for-money assessment.
