The Andrews Labor Government is making it easier for regional passengers to get around by delivering bus improvements all over Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing announced today that Ace Infrastructure and Keystone Civil will deliver the upgrades through the Labor Government’s $22.5 million Road and Rail Minor Works Program.

This includes upgrades to the bus interchanges at Koo wee Rup and Leongatha, and more bus shelters installed in Anderson, Wonthaggi and the Latrobe Valley.

Seating and line marking at the Koo Wee Rup and Leongatha bus interchanges will be improved and a new self-cleaning toilet will be installed at the Leongatha bus interchange.

The upgrades also include building 24 new bus shelters in the Latrobe Valley and upgrading signage and timetable information at 37 bus stops in Bairnsdale.

This is alongside the $9 million Gippsland Rail Corridor Station Upgrade Program that will deliver upgrades at Traralgon, Morwell, Moe and Trafalgar stations.

This announcement comes as the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments will partner to deliver $1.6 billion in regional rail upgrades.
