NEW EXTENSION FOR SEASPRAY FIRE STATION
Sunday 13 March 2016
Seaspray Fire Brigade members have a more comfortable station to work from, with the official opening of an $188,000 extension today.
Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing officially opened the upgraded facility on behalf of Minister for Emergency Services, Jane Garrett and presented twenty nine volunteer CFA members with awards, recognising their service to the CFA and to their community.
The newly upgraded station is a modern facility, which provides a better environment for brigade members, with improved meeting and training facilities.
Made possible through Andrews Labor Government support, the refurbishment includes a new and improved kitchen, which will help this local CFA brigade with its social and fundraising activities and guaranteeing the continuation of the brigade’s successful community market.
Since it was founded in 1944, the Seaspray brigade has been protecting the community and the influx of summer campers, attending around 33 incidents each year.
Today’s official opening of the extension was also timed to coincide with Seaspray’s centennial celebrations
