Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced Traralgon Chemist Warehouse is one of seven additional pharmacies that will open 24-hours-a-day, every day from 30 June, with a nurse on site from 6pm – 10pm daily.

The remaining Supercare Pharmacies will open at Parkmore Pharmacy 4 Less, Coburg Pharmacy 4 Less, Reservoir Pharmacy 4 Less, Balwyn Day + Night Pharmacy, Curlewis Pharmacy 4 Less and Bendigo UFS Pharmacies.

Victoria’s first five 24-hour Supercare Pharmacies, located in Ascot Vale, Craigieburn, Wantirna South, Yarraville and Ballarat, have helped thousands of people in just nine months.

Since July 2016, more than 50,655 visits have been made at these pharmacies between 10pm and 7am, with patient numbers growing every month. There have also been more than 3,260 episodes of care provided by Supercare nursing staff.

The Labor Government is delivering on its election commitment to open 20 Supercare Pharmacies across Victoria, with the final eight Supercare Pharmacies to open by mid-2018.

Supercare Pharmacies provide round-the-clock access to pharmacists for advice, supply of medicines and dispensing prescriptions.  A nurse is on site from 6pm to 10pm to provide face to face health advice and treatment for minor injuries or illness.

The free nursing service also assists with wound management, physical assessment, flu and whooping cough immunisations, health screening, sexual advice and referrals to other services.

Supercare Pharmacies do not replace doctors or the need to visit an emergency department.
