The Andrews Labor Government is investing almost $247,000 in programs to prevent and reduce gambling harm in regional and rural Victoria.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced $50,000 in funding for South Gippsland Shire Council to implement the Community Champions Go Gambling Free project.

The funding will support Mirboo North and Leongatha to implement the program through the promotion of activates that gambling and pokies free to reduce gambling harm.

Grants of up to $50,000 have been made available for regional organisations to develop gambling harm prevention initiatives, focused on helping young Victorians and Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

The funding is part of sweeping measures taken by the Labor Government to tackle gambling harm in Victoria and to support all Victorians, regardless of where they live.
